ezRemote Client is a file management application that allows you to connect your console to remote FTP, SMB, WebDAV servers for file transfer and management. It serves as a replacement for the "Switch SMB Client" and "Switch FTP Client" on platforms like the Switch, and versions are also available for PS4 or Vita. Now, a PS3 version has been released by cy33hc, marking the port of ezRemote Client to this console, with functionalities varying across different consoles.
For the PS3, the features include:
- File connection and transfer between the PS3 and an FTP/SMB/NFS/WebDAV/HTTP server.
- Support for connecting to Http servers such as (Apache, Nginx, RClone, Microsoft IIS, NPX Serve) with html directory listings.
- Installation of PKG files from any remote server. This automatically downloads the PKG to the PS3 and installs rap/rif files if found, creating an installation bubble in the "PlayStation Network Content" of the Package Manager.
- rap/rif files must be in the same folder or in an exdata subfolder as the PKG file on the remote server. If a rif file already exists on the PS3 account, it will not be replaced.
- In the application's settings dialog, you can select the PS3 account for installing rap/rif files.
- For WebDAV and HTTP servers that do not require a username/password, there is an option to enable Backgroud downloads. Similar to PKGi PS3, you must restart the PS3 for the background downloads to start.
- Creating Zip files
- Extracting zip and 7zip files
- File management function including cut/copy/paste/rename/delete/new folder/file for files on the PS3.
- A simple text editor for making basic changes in configuration text files. Limited to editing files over 32kb and lines up to 512 characters. Editing lines over 512 characters will result in truncation. Common text files with extensions (txt, log, ini, json, xml, html, conf, config) selected in the file browser with the X button will automatically open the text editor.
Known issues:
- There are UI issues, but these do not affect functionality. Efforts will be made to address UI issues later.
